Alternative Photo Processes

This is another process in which the image is formed by metallic silver, in this case it is formed through the action of silver nitrate and a salt of iron. The image is contact printed using ultraviolet light and fixed in hypo. The process dates from the 1890s but it was never very popular. The image is not permanent and tends to fade over time.
